چکیده

Argumentation is a scientific literacy practice focused on developing thinking skills associated with problem-solving. As computing has become an integral part of our world, computational are requisite for successful The significant effect applications the efficacy practices increasingly acknowledged. In this article, we propose framework that conceptualizes constructivist argumentation as context problem-solving by applying five dimensions, viz. algorithmic design, decomposition, abstraction, evaluation, and generalization. emphasizes two aspects, students’ capability quality argumentation. Drawing from literature problem-solving, argue application dimensions in science learning currently overlooked instructional environment. To nurture higher order to engage effective problem-solvers, incorporates four Computational Thinking-Argumentation design principles support innovation teaching at secondary school level, 1) competencies building solving uncertainties throughout inquiry; 2) creative cooperativity through negotiation evaluation; 3) talking writing; 4) critical processes abstraction

Problem Solving and Computational Thinking in a Learning Environment

Computational thinking is a new problem solving method named for its extensive use of computer science techniques. It synthesizes critical thinking and existing knowledge and applies them to solve complex technological problems. The term was coined by J. Wing [1], but the relationship between computational and critical thinking, the two modes of thinking in solving problems, has not been yet cl...

Explanation-Based Learning: A Problem Solving Perspective

This article outlines explanation-based learning (EBL) and its role in improving problem-solving performance through experience. Unlike inductive systems, which learn by abstracting common properties from multiple examples, EBL systems explain why a particular example is an instance of a concept. The explanations are then converted into operational recognition rules. In essence, the EBL approac...

Thinking and Problem Solving

Human thinking, and in particular, the human ability to solve complex, real-life problems contributes more than any other human ability to the development of human culture and the growth and development of human life on earth. However, the human ability to solve complex problems is still not well understood, partly because it has for a long time been largely ignored by traditional problem-solvi...

A Problem-solving Perspective

A wide variety of organizational practices have been proposed to support the creation, storage and transfer of knowledge, yet it is often unclear how these practices relate to one another in their contribution to organizational performance. This study develops a categorization system for knowledge management practices based on two dimensions: the practices' role in the problem-solving process, ...

Systems Thinking Competencies and the Learning Organisation

Public and private sector managers are starting to talk of ‘systems thinking’ as one of the key business competencies of their staff. At the same time, training managers in some enterprises, including the Defence Organisation, are demanding that University management schools introduce a more structured ‘competency based’ approach. But what are ‘systems thinking competencies’? Is “competency bas...
